Blue Base Weekly Updates

19 December 2017 (by Northern House School (Pupil Referral Unit))

Come see what Blue Base have been up to this week

Snow Days This week has been a shorter one but we hope you all had a wonderful few days in the snow. Although the snow was lovely, we were very pleased to be back in school with our Blue base team enjoying the last few days before we break up for Christmas. Assessment We have had a busy few weeks at school but one thing in particular we have been doing is assessments. We would like to say how proud we are of our Blue base boys for the hard work and effort they have put in to their assessments. We are SUPER proud! Wildside Our last Wildside of this term was a lovely one. The white soft snow still sat in some places of the forest and the boys had a wonderful time making trails around the trees. The boys took it in turns to put a blindfold on and follow the trails. They also played hide and seek and one person had to put their blindfold on and find the others finding their way round the forest. We would like to say a BIG thank you to Wildside for welcoming us across every Thursday. We look forward to seeing you again in the new year. Music Man Mr Wallace visits us every Thursday afternoon after Wildside and this week we played Christmas songs on the keyboards. Jingle Bells was a popular song this week and the boys played it beautifully. Jac even had a go on the iPad playing the different notes of jingle bells. We are so proud of how well they played! Thank you Mr Wallace for visiting us every week, we look forward to seeing you in the new year! Lego Man We are very lucky to have the Lego Man Mr Clift visit our school at the end of every half term. This week Mr Clift joined us and brought in his wonderful iPad’s and Lego boxes. We had Blue and Green bases combined and each child had the opportunity to have their own iPad to work on and a box of Lego to make figures from. Using the motors, the boys were able to use the iPad to make their figures move, flash and change colour. It was very exciting and all the children thoroughly enjoyed the session! Our Blue Base Christmas tree – bought from our fantastic ASDA trip We have had two Christmas trees in Blue base. We have a tree made out of blocks in one corner and our ASDA Christmas tree in another corner. The boys have decorated our ASDA tree and it is looking absolutely beautiful! When we visited ASDA, we had a brilliant time! The boys behaved perfectly and made us so very proud! The lovely Maureen gave us a tour of the store and at the end, they even had time to go on the tills! Thank you to Miss Baugh for arranging the visit and thank you Maureen for a wonderful time at ASDA. Christmas lunch Our Christmas lunch on Thursday was a lovely time where we all gathered together as a PRU to eat lunch together. Thank you ever so much for the boys for behaving so well during the unexpected fire alarm.
