Blue Base Updates 21/05/2018
We are always pleased with how well the children work during assessment week. We have very sensible workers in Blue Base and during assessment week, Blue Base’s timetable has to swap around a little bit. The nature of our children, this could prove quite difficult but they were wonderful when it came to slotting some assessments in.
Well done Blue Base!
On Friday 18th May, we were invited into Mr Price’s office to have a movie morning. In order to get into his office for this special treat, Blue Base children had to have green days for the week leading up to it. We were very excited that all of Blue Base were able to join in the film morning.
We watched ‘Angry Birds’! It was amazing! Mrs Parker delivered Blue Base hot dogs, popcorn and hot chocolate. Thank you Mr Price for inviting us.
On Tuesday, this week, we went to a SMILE event in Walsall. We visited Wolverhampton University for a very exciting event where we took part in a Rugby game and rules session, Dance and Cheer and Judo. Our Blue Base children were mixed up with children from other schools and they worked perfectly.
The day was fantastic with the sun shining down on us and we were so proud of how the children did at the event. We will definitely be thinking about visiting future SMILE events.
Although the weather wasn’t as good as the other days, we ventured on down to Baggeridge for our SMART trip. The children took part in the high ropes adventure hub where they went on high rope activities.
The children had a wonderful day and the day was very well deserved by them because they had earnt the amount of SMART points that they needed to get.
We were very proud of Blue Base for all making it on the reward trip.
Our Creative Curriculum topic this week is ‘Working together’. The children took part in team building activities in the hall where they worked together in order to win points.
Blue Base are already really good at working as a team and we liked how well they took part in the different activities and showed their teamwork off to Mr Askwith, who very kindly led the session.
