Maroon Base updates 28/09/2018
Maroon base have been looking at owls on our visit to see the Bushman. We were learning about their feathers and habits as well as the significance of their eye colour as to when they hunt.
We were all given the chance to put on a thick glove and hold a European Eagle Owl.
We have also studied earthquakes . We learned about tectonic plates and replicated this with the peel of an orange.
We drew our own visual versions of the Richter scale and made simple models of tectonic plates rubbing together to make an earthquake – out Jenga block houses all fell down.
We have studied the water cycle and have made 3D models to show each part from evaporation, condensation, to precipitation. We made the models and labelled each stage of the cycle.
